Brain stem evoked response audiometry (BERA) is an effective method of evaluating the auditory pathway from the peripheral endorgan through the brain stem. The authors have found this test to be a valuable adjunct to the neurotologic evaluation and have applied the study to over 500 patients (639 ears) in a 22 month time span.

A series of clicks or tones are delivered through earphones to each ear independently. The test lasts approximately one hour. Adult Patient Preparation. No preparation for adults.

Brainstem Evoked Response Audiometry (BERA). So these tests should be included in the test battery for the screening of patients complaining of tinnitus even with normal hearing.

Brain Evoked Response Auditory (BERA) is a hearing examination performed on children aged 1 to 3 years. Meanwhile, for children with a smaller age, Oto Acoustic Emission (OAE) examination can be carried out.

Brainstem evoked response audiometry is useful in the identification of threshold levels as well as in the diagnosis of eighth nerve tumors. The instrumentation is a modification of the electroencephalograph and an averaging computer; 3,000 clicks, 16/s, are presented and averaged for each printed response.

2019-10-24 Brain stem evoked response audiometry (BERA) is an effective method of evaluating the auditory pathway from the peripheral endorgan through the brain stem.
